We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Auditor to join our dynamic team of professionals. As a Senior Auditor, you will play a crucial role in conducting external audits, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards, laws, and regulations. You will collaborate closely with clients, providing expert guidance and recommendations to enhance their internal control systems and financial processes. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Your Responsibilities
- Conduct external audits of financial statements, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards, laws, and regulations.
- Perform risk assessments and develop audit plans to address identified risks.
- Execute audit procedures, including the evaluation of internal controls, testing of transactions, and verification of financial data accuracy.
- Analyse financial statements, identifying anomalies, errors, or inconsistencies, and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Review client policies, procedures, and internal control systems, providing guidance on best practices and areas for enhancement.
- Collaborate with client personnel to gather necessary information, resolve queries, and address audit-related issues.
- Prepare comprehensive audit reports, summarizing findings, conclusions, and recommendations for management.
- Stay updated on changes in accounting standards, regulations, and industry trends, ensuring compliance and incorporating relevant updates into audit processes.
- Mentor and guide junior team members, providing feedback, and assisting with their professional development.
- Foster strong relationships with clients, maintaining effective communication channels, and delivering exceptional client service.
Your Background
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification such as CA, CPA, or equivalent is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in external auditing, preferably in a public accounting firm.
- In-depth knowledge of auditing standards, accounting principles, and relevant regulations (e.g., Australian Auditing Standards, Corporations Act 2001).
- Proven experience in conducting external audits and evaluating internal controls.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
- Proficiency in using audit software and tools for data analysis.
- Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and team members.
