Employee Spotlight: Jeff
This month, the spotlight falls on Jeff, a Territory Service Delivery Manager – Workplace & Digital Applications at Yempo. In this role, he focuses on keeping the client satisfied with the company’s services through project management, fixing reliability issues, ensuring performance metrics are on track, managing budgets, and leading the team to deliver services. Jeff tells us his Yempo experience below.
Can you describe your role at Yempo?
I empower and help each team member deliver and exceed client expectations and tasks through coaching, management and assisting them on all business needs. I make sure to take care of them so they can focus on working and achieving results needed for their work.
How long have you been working here?
I started in October 2017, so that’s coming up to 3 years this year.
What can Yempo employees contact you about?
If they feel they need direction on who the best cloud engineers, service desk, developers and testers are, hit me up. Aside from that, I can be a friend to anyone.
Can you share any latest projects you’re working on in 2020?
We are currently busy expanding our support for the client. We are looking into realizing the 80/20 (80% Manila/20% Australia) goal for our managed services. We are also busy searching for testing gigs for our teammates.
What do you love most about your job?
I think where I am right now is the best I have ever been. Sure, the perks are great. More importantly, the team I am with is the kind you look forward to seeing everyday. I also think it is the pleasure of working with the best in our field. Every member of the team is strong in their own skillsets that the team will not be where it is if it were not for everyone’s hard work.
What are your strongest skills?
I would like to think that I am a good negotiator. I believe that everyone can enter into a compromise and that we just need to find that sweet spot.
What was a challenge you experienced at Yempo and how was it solved?
I think the culture fit was one of the biggest challenges I had. Through experimentation and consultation and a series of other steps, I feel that the team is better, culture-wise. Of course, it is not perfect, but I think it is way better than before. I would like to believe that apart from what I mentioned, different ways of communication (oral, written, body language) is the key. It is also important how you deliver the message.
What do you like best about Yempo’s culture?
I love how everyone is approachable and community-driven. From the CEO down to our housekeeping support staff, you can tell that everyone is striving to make you feel at home.
Which core value (commitment, excellence, community) is the most important to you? Why?
Community would be my first and most important pick. I believe a strong community with same-minded individuals can achieve anything.
Where do you see your career 5 years from now?
I am hoping that 5 years from now, my team will have expanded and that I could help groom two or more people to do the same role I am doing today – which is helping the team to grow.
Do you have quotes, advice, or mottos that you follow that might inspire other Yempo employees?
Attitude determines 99% of your success in everything that you do.
