In this role, you will be assigned to one of our UK-based clients. They are a company that provides refinishing paint products and aerosol solutions to the automotive, industrial, and decorative markets. They have built up an excellent knowledge of the refinish industry, and have developed product ranges to perfectly suit the market.
About the Role
We are seeking a versatile Systems Administrator to own and streamline our organization’s technical infrastructure and cloud-based ERP platform. This role combines traditional IT support responsibilities—such as managing hardware, phone systems, and cloud storage—with the administration of our AWS-based ERP environment. The ideal candidate will ensure seamless day-to-day operations while driving continuous improvement across the company’s IT and ERP functions.
Your Responsibilities
1. AWS-Based ERP Management
• Maintain and optimize the AWS-hosted ERP database (e.g., EC2, RDS).
• Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues, ensuring uptime and data integrity.
• Manage user roles, permissions, and system performance within the ERP.
2. Data Management & Cleanse
• Oversee data quality across OneDrive, the ERP system, and other platforms.
• Implement governance policies, perform regular audits, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to cleanse and standardize data sets.
3. Intranet Content & Management
• Maintain and update the company intranet, ensuring timely and accurate content.
• Collaborate with departments to publish announcements, knowledge base articles, and resources.
• Troubleshoot intranet-related issues, updates, and optimizations.
4. Workbooks & Templates
• Create and update Workbook’s CRM templates, macros, and reporting tools to streamline data collection and analysis.
• Manage version control and backups for critical spreadsheets.
• Design and maintain templates in the ERP for documents (invoices, purchase orders, etc.).
5. Phone System Administration
• Oversee the company’s phone infrastructure (VoIP).
• Troubleshoot call quality, connectivity, or configuration issues.
• Coordinate with service providers for system upgrades or advanced technical needs.
6. ERP Layouts & Reports
• Design and maintain custom layouts, dashboards, and reports within the ERP.
• Audit reporting frameworks to ensure data accuracy and clarity.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop KPI dashboards and analytic tools.
7. New Product Setup & Custom Fields
• Configure product information within the ERP, ensuring accurate data entry and categorization.
• Develop custom fields to capture unique business data or improve workflows.
• Document and refine processes for product introduction and lifecycle management.
8. APIs & Log Monitoring
• Manage integrations between the ERP system and external services via APIs.
• Monitor system logs to identify errors or performance bottlenecks and coordinate resolutions.
• Collaborate with developers and vendors for complex integration needs.
9. Courier Integrations
• Set up and maintain integrations with shipping and courier services.
• Ensure accurate order tracking, shipping label generation, and real-time status updates.
• Troubleshoot connectivity or performance issues to maintain efficient shipping workflows.
Your Background
• 2+ years’ experience in IT support or system administration, with additional exposure to ERP systems
• Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Hands-on experience with AWS services (e.g., EC2, RDS, S3) for hosting and managing databases
• Strong knowledge of PC/laptop hardware, phone system administration (PBX/VoIP), and cloud storage (OneDrive)
• Proficiency in SQL or other database query languages for data analysis and troubleshooting
• Experience integrating and monitoring APIs, including handling log files and error resolution.
• Ability to design and maintain custom fields, reports, and templates within an ERP or similar system
• Capable of interpreting complex data sets to identify trends, outliers, and opportunities for optimization
• Adept at inventory management, data cleansing, and process automation.
• Strong attention to detail and time management abilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration
• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to work independently and prioritize effectively
• Eagerness to learn new technologies and adapt to an evolving IT landscape.
• AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate
• Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft 365, or others)
• ERP-specific credentials (NetSuite, SAP, or similar) are a plus
